JY YEÜNG

I'm Jy Yeüng (aka James). Artist first, creator right next to it. I get excited by the whole process of making: photography, self-portrait, a self-taught practice in graphic design and building the website you're looking at right now.

A lot of that stems from a lifelong inspiration and admiration for popular culture, music and film. Concept matters a lot to me. I like working in eras and series, matching a feeling to a soundtrack and sweating the details until things move with a fluid, natural ease.

I'm always reinventing myself as an artist. I put myself in uncomfortable places on purpose, just enough to gain access to new tools, new perspectives and that open-minded excitement that keeps me in love with being creative.
